Has anybody tried the e3 spark plugs in their first gen. I thought about going to buy some, but wanted to see if anybody else has tried them, and if there worth the money.

I wouldn't recommend buying them, the 3 prongs dont do anything for performance or fuel economy, a spark can only jump to one prong at a time so 3 is useless. The only thing that matters is the actual tip which there is only one. You can get the platinum or iridium tips which dont do anything for performance or fuel economy either but they do extend the life of the plugs. Stock replacement is probably the best thing for it

they are going to be my next plug, ive been running bosch platinum +4's for a couple years now and they have done well, they claim (iirc) .03 increase in mpg on the e3's and gm has adopted them as their plug from what i understand. i curious how they will stand up to my msd ignition

I love how people are so stupid and think E3's, splitfire plugs, and all the other marketing bullshit is so much better than other OEM plugs. The best plug for your vehicle is whatever the manufacturer recommends. Think about it, its already engineered for your engine... Companies are just trying to re-invent the wheel and make money off dumb people who actually buy them. That's my 2 cents.

Yea who are we to modify something thats been engineered that way..

Like those stupid people that think superchargers and turbos will make any power. They are just silly, its not engineered for their engines.. :D

Well for what it's worth, I run the E3-42 in my 92 4.3. It just went through a
California test only smog test and the numbers were VERY low for a truck that
has 160,000 plus miles on it. Does it get better gas mileage ? I don't know, as
I don't drive a steady 55 miles an hr. Does it start easier ? Yes it does, but
that's with a new wires, cap, rotor and of course the E3's. Were they worth
the extra money ? Time will tell. I'll try to get a mileage test in, but to be
very honest I doubt I'll get it done.

I did run AC AR-12's and had very good performance from them as well and
they were much cheaper than the E3's. They are a non resistor plug. I think
I pay about 18.00 for them compared to the 40.00 or so I paid out for the
E3's from Amazon.

I don't know if I'd buy them again or not. We'll see how they last.

NGK or Denso Iridium plugs all the way.

As for the gapping:

2.0 L - .035
2.5 L - .060
2.8 L - .045
4.3 L - .035
