I was curious if a 91 style grille will fit in a '88 Blazer. A friend has a brand new grille he purchased from GM several years ago for sale for $50. If it will fit my '88 I will buy it, if it fits any modifications? Thanks

Yeah, it will still work. Buddy of mine put a 93 Jimmy grill on his 85 S10, fit fine but the headlights looked kinda funny since he didn't relocate them. They sell kits to relocate the headlights, but I'm pretty sure somebody had a thread about making their own relocators. Might be able to find it once I search for a few.

i've heard of alot of problems with relocaters. can't give an opinion on them as i've never used them. you can also switch your core support which would be the best way to do it for the nicest fitment. i had to redrill mounting holes for my grill and i had issues with it sticking out in the center a little. my suggestion is the core support.

like jman said go with the core, thats what i did, only thing if your putting in a 91-93 core it isnt all that ez i had to take both fenders off and the wheel well liners out, was it hard no but in my eyes it was a lot of work for a stock grill, mostly cuz lots of the bolts were rusted and or just broke on me. not trying to discourge you or anything but just my to cents.

I didn't know the 91-3 core support would fit. I can easily go that route as well. I am going to replace both of my front fenders and hood anyhow. I will just go to the boneyard, he wants $250 for the whole nose off a '92 in town.

That will all work together, but I didn't see it mentioned as Im sure you know, the early 90's grilles have the splash built onto them, just an extra piece you wont need if you take the front clip from the 92. Everything else will bolt up, the fenders/wheel wells are the same for all the models, the only difference is the location of the headlights in the core support and the mounting locations of the newer grilles. Good luck with it, let us know how it turns out.
