I recently took possession of my Uncle's 1991 S10. It had been sitting since 2013. Cleaned the fuel tank, new fuel pump, lines and filter, new coil, plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Two tanks through it and it's averaging 16.7 MPG, mostly highway. Is that typical for these? It's not a big issue, but I was expecting it to be a little better.

Also, lazy or old O2 sensor or inaccurate (ECM) temp sensor might not allow closed loop which would = poor highway gas MPG's
90 s10 with a very mild build 4.3 auto loader and 3.08 about 21.5 to 22.5 if i drive around 65 mph with cruise control. 19 19.5 around 75 mph. 16+ for average aint bad and a plus 1 on the o2 sensor.
