thats posible . if it is its a cheep fix ,try checking the door for play, poen the door and try to pick it upon it you will feel it and see it some . the only other thing i can think of is the heater core but i dought that is it since you said it was dry under the carpet .

 

Yeah I have no idea. I heard people say it was a windshield seal. Under my carpet looks like it has been wet before but this time it was just the carpet.

 

More than likely from the fresh vent it the weather stripping isn't totally intact. That's been my experience.

^ drain lines, if you do have one google how to clean/unblock them. Bleach cleans them out really well

Another possility is the antenna lead. Make sure the cables low point is below the grommet/opening for the cable.

 

Yeah I checked most areas I could think of all look good. So far no more water in floor board.

 

check the drain holes in door. my sisters monte carlo had the same problem. hers were so clogged i had to get a pick and clean both drain holes out. but after that no problem.

 

Pull back the carpet in the area and check the seam running along where the inner fender is attached to the cab area. I have a seperation in that seam on my drivers fender and it allowed water in when it rained. Sealed it with some seam sealer and all was well. Just a thought. Thanks alot.

 

This same was happening to me for a while then I traced it back to the dumbtard who owned it before me running the amp power wire through the door jam.

 

I did that and had this same problem when I first got my truck :lol: I washed my truck three times a week too so eventually I got curious and now I have my power wire running under the truck with the frame rail haha

 

To reiterate, look at the area of the heater core. The pipes go through the firewall through a rubber sponge like material. Over time, a gap develops between the pipes and the seal. Find a dark place, or at night, place a strong light in the floor board area, shining up toward the heater core pipes. Open your hood, and look for light leaking through. If you can see light, then water can get in there.

You can also do the reverse, and shine it on that area under the hood while a friend looks under the dash for ANY sign of light. Of course, you will need to disable the under hood light and under dash light temporarily to do this, so don't forget to put them back in working order when finished.

 

Man I haven't been on here in awhile. I'm definitely am going to check more f these areas just to check them. It hasn't leaked any water in lately not sure what was the cause but it kids fixed itself for now anyway. Haha
